Early in the Summer of 2009, Bill and Jenn Gehr purchased and installed a IntelliJacks system on their 5th wheel. Their product review was published in the Trailer Life September 2009 Issue. Here is their review:
Our license plate frame reads, "If its not FUN, we don't want to do it!". However, there are times when we slightly modify this optimistic phrase into, "This isn't fun, but we HAVE to do it!" Such is the sentiment when standing out in the elements attempting to position our 5th wheel for proper level, connect or disconnect positioning. Since finding IntelliJacks, with one single press of a button, our 5th wheel moves into the exact position we select- regardless of terrain or slope.
Tilt sensor technology is what makes IntelliJacks so simple for one person to operate alone. IntelliJacks completely replaces the existing manual up/down switch with one touch control for; disconnect position, leveling, connect position, and leg retraction. The installation placement of the control box may be mounted inside any compartment of your 5th wheel within 4 feet of the jack motor for proper operation. We chose to install the control box inside the front compartment simply because there were no other options within the vicinity of the jack leg with the motor. Another route would be to install an access door in a convenient location of your choice. The installation kit contains all that you need to install the unit including terminals and specific length wires. The leg pin can be installed in the third hole of the drop leg, eliminating the need to bend down and drop the legs each time you disconnect.
Let's say you have parked for a week and you discover that your jack pads have sunken several inches into the ground. IntelliJacks tilt sensor technology remembers the original disconnect position rather than an inch or two lower. With one touch of a button, this product has allowed my Fiancé or I to easily connect or disconnect our truck without each other's assistance.
Installing the IntelliJacks is simple: Connect four wires, attach the retract sensor and that's it! Our install was complete in just over one hour.
It even comes with a lifetime warranty and friendly customer service. It's always great to find a helpful tool- in this case a single button! IntelliJacks has given us more time for FUN by eliminating our leveling headaches.
